Datacom Open South Australian Office
New Team Fronts Big SA Push by National IT Outsource Company
Adelaide, Australia - 9th August 2006:
Datacom, the largest independent, professional IT services provider in Australasia,
today announced the opening of a new office in South Australia and the appointment
of a new executive and operational team.
The South Australian office, registered under the name Datacom Systems SA Pty Ltd
and located at 96 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Hilton will be led by a well known team
comprising managing director Darren Williams and chairman, Mick O’Rourke.
In opening the office Datacom chief executive officer Mr Michael Browne said. "We are
delighted to be making this strategic investment in the South Australian market in line
with our well published APAC wide investment and growth plans. I am particularly pleased
that we are launching with a strong IT team of seven staff led by Darren and Mick. Darren
is well known in SA IT circles from his time at Commander and Mick from Centari Systems
and HP. Together our staff have decades of IT experience in the SA market."
According to Darren Williams it is the flexibility and scalability of Datacom’s IT services
that will be so appealing to SA clients. "While our team here in SA, with Datacom’s staff
of 2100 people in support, will engage clients we have on a national basis like Norfolk Group Holdings,
Defence Force Recruiting and Medibank Private, it is what we can do for local SA based
companies that is particularly exciting to me," he said. "We are an ANZ based company that
can easily adapt and adjust to our clients business needs."
"Whether small local companies or large ones we expect our local team with the support
of our national folk will provide a friendly, competent and flexible service to the local
SA IT user, we are very excited to be making an investment in the South Australian economy
at this time" said Michael.
